Default Cool GT-R Z-Tune article

I've been reading Speedhunters lately, and they have some really neat stuff up there. Here's a sweet article on the Z-tune GT-R. I love that it's from a perspective of an aftermarket-geared person with an eye for detail, and not just some C&D/R&T lip service or rehashed press release. Plus he's driven it.

CAR FEATURE>> NISMO Z-TUNE - Speedhunters

About the car, there are lots of cool cool things to note. A big FU to electric fan nutswingers: this 500hp car has a clutch fan. Thermostatically controlled oil coolers, which is the correct way of course. Instead of seam welding and gussetting everything, they overlaid dry carbon and rivetted/bolted it on. Think about that. It's so easy to do. You don't even need molds like you would with a hood. You just take a strut tower off another car, cover it with prepreg, vac bag, and cure it. Off pops your new carbon reinforcement!

I thought I read somewhere that Nissan came up with a special adheasive that would bond the carbon panels to the metal ones?

Either way its an impressive car.

There's probably some bonding in there, but I'm pretty sure they use a lot of rivets, too.

There's supposed to be follow-up articles on this car from Speedhunters as well. I wonder if they'll get a shot of the crazy rear subframe braces that Nismo made. Oh yeah, stock 1.5bar (22psi)
