Default can sumone explain fpr use with tuning to me please.

I was just wondering how fuel pressure regulators come in to play when tuning your car. before when i got my tune with my ca, i had a walboro fuel pump, stock 370cc injectors, and megasquirt setup. NO FPR.it made very nice power. 220 somethin at 7 pounds.i think i only got like 175 to a tank too btw lol.
now if i had an adjustable fuel pressure regualtor to turn up the fuel pressure before i had got it tuned, what would be the results. more power? better fuel economy? worse? etc.
can somone exlpalibn how this works to me. k thanks

Good grief!

Ok, your last car had a fuel pressure regulator. You have to have one in order to make fuel pressure period. Otherwise you'd just be splashing the injectors with fuel and it'd be blasting back into the tank full force.

All the fuel pressure regulator does is set the base fuel pressure. It's referenced to the manifold pressure to keep the pressure difference the same. Ie. if you're boosting 14psi, the regulator adds 14psi of fuel pressure so that the difference between the rail and the manifold is always the same. And adjustable regulator just lets you change the base fuel pressure. Just use your stock regulator.

I mean, yes fuel pressure regulators are magic. The government doesn't want you to find out about them because they add hp and gas mileage. That's why Nissans are so fast and good on gas. Your build should have of them!

FPRs used to be a way of helping tune back in the day, and on certain cars it can be helpful, but with the advancement of most tuning methods these days, a stock FPR works fine, esp if you're not running ridiculously huge injectors.
