Tansmission Problem?

Default Tansmission Problem?

I got a 98 nissan maxima automatic. Everytime i drive on first gear it gets stuck on about three RPM or it will just keep going till about 5 rpm but as soon as i let go of the gas and put my foot on it again it kicks into next gear. is this an actuall transmission problem? can it be fixed.? not only is it killing my gas but its annnoying help plzzzzzzzzzz

It's most likely a valve that is sticking in the valvebody. Do a hot-flush and see if it helps. If not, you're going to have to get the valvebody rebuilt.

That is 100% exactly what my tranny does in my 94 maxima. And one of my valves sticks a lot and I hear it tapping about 70% of the time I'm driving. If you give it barely any gas it should shift pretty normally but you have to baby the hell out of it. Mines so bad I can redline 1st gear and skip 2nd because the rpms go to high.
