Default s14 sr20det VTC, VVT?

if done some research but cant come up with any info on this variable valve timing system...

i have an s14 sr but i dont notice any difference before and after vtc is "engaged" < lol.. because ive ridden in hondas and toyotas that have vvt systems and they're much more noticeable.. (also taking into consideration that they are N/A).. is it just that the nissan vvt sucks? or what? any info would be cool thanks

unlike honda vtec's where they kick in at like 4000 rpms, maybe the sr20 vtc is engaged all the time

if they were engaged all the time what would be so variable about it? and if thats true why would they go through all that trouble? they could just throw in more aggressive cams and save the electrical systems and other shit. we all know the more simple something is the less likely it will malfunction

I thought VTC for the nissans was just variable valve timing, its not a third cam cam lobe like on the hondas. you arent going to notice variable at all.

s14 and s15 sr20det just have the variable timing. sr20vet head and vtec head have variable timing and can actually vary the cam profile as well. with variable timing you aren't going to feel it as much. really no point in keeping the vtc if you are going to upgrade cams and get a rom tune.
