So I was thinking...
About getting into the VIP scene. I'm thinking about getting out of the import/tuner scene and into the VIP scene. I really like the mid-late 90's (97-99) Q45's and was wondering how reliable they are. How many miles can I expect to get out of a well taken care of one? I will probably end up buying one with 75-100K on it and it will be my DD. Thanks guys

join the crew!! I will be getting one that has about 110K miles prolly. they run forever if maintained well. Just so you know, expect to pay twice as much, or more, for every mod compared to any car in the import scene other than maybe FD's and Supra's. Body kits are about 3-4 K at least and if your gonna do VIP you can't half ass anything. Look into the prices etc before you start. Ie (1 set of curtains is 150, rain vents are another 150, grills are 150-200, headlights, HIDS, Air suspension or Coilovers.....none of its cheap and most of it takes forever to find and get because it all comes from over seas only!.
Also, to be VIP you have to have some mad camber and absolutely slam the ride......this leads to tires wear and mad scraping so expect to pay for fixes and touch ups all the time. VIP is not for everyone. If you are serious about it though, at least you are loking into a REAL VIP chassis. If it isn't the right platform to start, no matter how much you spend or what you put on it, it can't be real VIP. GL.

Thanks! I got a new job and its looking pretty promising so I decided to go this route because I've always like it. I have been looking at prices for everything and it is a little bit more expensive than the tuner world. When I first get into in its going to be a step by step process-wheels being first. I'm not gonna bag it until the end but it will be on coilovers. I'll have some sort of kit on it when I find the right one.

Nice, y33 coils are VERY hard to find and not cheap at all. If you do your research though, there are a few cheeaper alternatives. I'm also doing a group buy on s14 RUCA's and Toe arms which both fit the y33 chasis and lets you get so much lower. if your intersted lmk.

99-00 Q45T...the t makes all the difference! yea and for the nice air ride suspension...you're looking at about 4k, body kits are right around there, wheels are right around 4k too. good luck, its a money pit, but anything worthwhile usually is. I love VIP, but i still like sports cars for now.

if you're willing to spend more than 1800-2500 on wheels alone (average used price for good 19's, w/ tires if lucky) more power too ya. God knows we need more of you. I would in a heart beat if i had the cash...
other than that, like Burgy said, aero kits are generally much more expensive, like everything.
As far as miles, i start getting weary at 150k
