Default Hypothetically

Say hypothetically I was a broke ass college student, working through summer to get enough money to put decent suspension and an sr20det in a beat up, 4 lug s14. Would there be guys around here on this board who could swap or help me with the swap without me having to go to a shop that charges so much in labor and still screws up the job?

240's suspension and motors are easy to take out and install. its just working on the motors that is a pain in the ass. supsension easy as hell.16 bolts and most of everythign your going to be trading out for the suspension will be out. well for an s13 that is, idk if s14 is the same.

the swaps aren't that complicated, if you have any mechanical knowledge. There are lots of write ups on how to do the swap. If you've got a decent tool box, you ought to be able to do it yourself. As for the suspension, depending on what you're doing, you can do most of it with a 14, 17, a jack and stands. there are lots of write up on how to do most of that too.
start your search at the popular 240 sites (240sxforums.com/240sx.org/nicoclub.com) they have most of the info you need. from there, you'll know what you will need help with.

sounds like a decent offer to me. especially if you don't have the tools or know how.

I don't have the tools or enough know how, but I don't want to just shovel a job onto someone else's plate and say "HERE, DO THIS."
I want to be involved and doing the most work, I just don't have the conveniences like a lift or tools.

Jeff - I'll give you a call when my time gets closer, I'm working all summer for this. I'm interested to see in what kind of prices you can get me a motorset for (motor + transmission) and if they are compression tested/checked what not.
Chris - long time no see, whats up man? I had to say goodbye to my old white car, but I'm trying to get back into it again with an s14 this time.
