Default Mega Squirt?

Is this a reliable tuning system for the s13. I will be running a KAT set-up after building the motor and I was wondering which ecu control system I should use. From Apexi SAFC 2 to Mega-squirt- to full stand alone some-one please give me some advice, and maybe some personal experience opinions.

its a simple yet effective system, and can do alot, but it is only as good as the tuner. alot of people think its a cheaper option, but depending how many options you get and what amount of tuning is needed, it ends up coming out to about the same amount as a decent tuned ECU. while im a fan of MS/AEM/Haltech type systems for full out race builds, anything that sees mostly street driving and the occasional racing event is fine using a tuned ECU.

i say, since you are in the area, take advantage of the local ROM tuners. hit up XAT and get it done once and done right. $500-650 for peace of mind, a proper tune, and the ability to go back for changes or fixes, shall u never need it.

megasquirt rocks. however, if ur not up for soldering your own board, i also highly recomend a rom tune. although xat advertises megasquirt dyno tunes, they made me feel like a retard for squirting a ka-t.

wow ....

okay i OWN megasquirt and have done alot them on cars.

now you can buy a pre-made system, and i say get it if you think building one is over your head.

buy a pre-made one with harness and sensorscan be as cheap as 350 or so shipped to your door.

i have maybe 300 bucks in my complete setup.

all software is free, and it has more or the same features as the big name standalone companys out there.
tuning is easy i think also.

read up on it.
