ok there has been some discussion in another thread about engine/coolant temps for example when my coolant temp gauge is at 260 degs my stock temp gauge is only halfway up, where are you engines operating at? Who else has thier aftermarket temp gauges installed in thier upper hose? And what temp is your aftermarket gauge at during normal driving?

I just read the ECU sensor with the Consult. I've seen as high as 93*C (200*F) on an SR20 when doing pulls on the dyno, and the stock gauge still read in the middle / half way up (no movement). 260*F is around 127*C. If you're really getting that high, I'm pretty sure that your coolant would be boiling, and/or your headgasket would be writing it's will.

edit: I'm going add a relevant title to this thread....

Ahh the Nissan POS 3-position temp gauge. It has been established that the 3 positions for the gauge are "OFF", "ON", and "Rebuild". I've made it to rebuild on my KA, but everything survived.

I've also done some research and found that FC RX7's have the same problem with their temp gauge, and that it's not linear. There is a fix somewhere for those cars to linearize the gauge reading that we may be able to adapt to our cars. If anyone finds the FC mod, I'd be glad to try it on an S13 gauge.

My s14 is the vice versa... the stock gauges is over the H and almost pinned yet it isn't even hot at all. I just broke my POS aftermarket temp gauge so I need to get a new one.. Oh yeah I have an s13 SR in it....
