Default Sebring > z32 brakes w/street pads

I took the car to Sebring yesterday for the first time. From previous experience, I knew that the track is really hard on brakes, so I purchased z32 brakes.... thanks to Matt for the rotors and thanks to Taylor for the calipers and installation.

...so I get to the track yesterday moring and set-up in pit row. I run a few laps with a master instructor and get his sign-off. I start running hot laps and after lap 8 I notice the pedal is getting long. I pull into the pits and bleed the brakes with my new Japanese friend Shingo, he is here learning engrish. I go out and run some more laps and realize that the pedal is super long and I am going about 105 as I approach the braking zone for the safety pin.... luckly I was able to slow the car down and get back to the pits and park it. I managed to run some more laps before calling it a day.

Overall the car is a monster at Sebring. The car has too much power for the current status of the chassis. I need to stiffen the chassis, get bucket seats as Shingo calls them, upgrade the brake pads, and add some ducts for the front brakes.

There is a chin event on April 4th at Sebring. It's on the short course so speeds don't generally reach more than 100-110 mph. http://www.chinmotorsports.com

I hate to say this but they are brake pro's..... stillen sells them. :bbb: I should have gone with the Ferodo DS3000 as they are the only brake pad that hasn't faded on me at Sebring. Yea the rears are stock.

I was using Motul racing brake fluid.... wet boiling point is 421

Here are my future plans: Track pads up front... probably DS3000, duct work to the front brakes and track pads out back.

I imagine you have SS brake lines? My brake setup didn't hold well at first in Road Atlanta. It's a learning curve though, as you learn how to properly enter the car into the various turns, you start saving brake pad Thanks for the link for Sebring!

yea, I do have ss lines. I am sure I was on the brakes too long in some places. A higher temp pad and better use of the brakes will help.

I have about 300 miles total seat time in this car.... it is still completely foreign to me.

Which pads and fluid did you run at RA?

thanks

Because this was well over a year ago. Before we even started having drift events. Before hot tea was formed. We all know tea was cold/luke warm before 2004
