Project Twice Cam Commences!!

Ah yes, Wolverine.

Easily the most modified 240sx in the area when it comes to suspension, but definitely lacking in the horsepower department, this is about to change.

Thanks to some help I gave to a friend during his SR20DET swap, I now have a low mileage KA24DE S13 engine that is going to be installed in the very anemic once cam's place.

Before the motor goes in however, the fun already begins...

This car will soon be turbocharged, that's right, a turbo KA fully backed by Secret Services! We will be offering quite a few SPL products for the KA24DE soon, including

KA24DE Turbo shootout
KA24DE Header shootout
KA24DE SSPL Turbo Kit based around stock motor
KA24DE SSPL ROM TUNE S13
KA24DE SSPL ROM TUNE S14 (Hoa!!)
KA24DE Camshaft dyno shootout
KA24DE SSPL Intake manifold

But first, I need the fellow nissan forum members' help!

The following parts are needed in order to get wolverine's twice cam running in order. If you have any of these laying around after a swap, or a wrecked car, PM me and let me know.

*S14 Distributor and connectors
*S13 KA24DE Coil and Ignitor assembly including bracket
*S13 KA24DE ECU (25/26)
*S13 KA24DE MAFS
*S14 KA24DE MAFS
*S13 KA24DE harness molested or not
*S13 KA24DE A/C compressor
*S13 F9/F10 Plugs both male and female ends

Thank you in advance, and I hope to provide more great products for you KA guys. lord knows the engine has potential, it's just a little bit goofy.

I think its awesome that you guys are gettin around to the KA's...its about time people started realizing the potential of them...but one thing:
DON'T FORGET THE ONCE CAM CREW!

KAs making a scene at Secret Services, wow :)

Matt, I have a spare '96 MAF you can use. I'm also eyeing a set of JWT 248/256 cams so perhaps we can share them for the shootout.

You plan on doing this on Saturdays? I'd like to come down and help - I'm loyal to my KA-Ts...

if you need aftermarket pistons...I have a friend that works at Diamond racing pistons....so can most likely get you a break on price...

haha u know im down for the cause

Well the idea here is going to be basing everything around a stock motor and head. extreme bolt ons, you could say.

Eventually the motor will fail, as do all stock motors intended for much less horsepower, and then we will experiment with forged pistons and what not. But to be able to make great power on the stock block is going to be the challenge.

Jesse, I'll be doing major things like putting the motor in and getting it running on Saturdays and Sundays, but the little things will always be weeknights after work.

Jordan, the once cams just seem to have too many problems with head warpage and sealing from the factory to merit a good stock motor turbo kit. Maybe with forged pistons and a copper headgasket from paeco along with an oringed block is a good idea for proper sealing, but I can't see that being the cheap way to go about things.

For many 89 90 owners, swapping in a dohc is the easiest and most financially sound solution to making moderate power AND reliability. Lets not forget the fact that you can put an SR in for cheap as well.

Well, you can count on me every Saturday from 9-6PM and after 4PM on weekdays. PM me with details on when you want to start. I'll be leaving on a mission soon...

Matt Vassallo 01-13-2004 08:40 AM

300sx is still around, and will be completed some day ;-)
