Default spec v help

hey, i know somebody that has a 2002 spec v, and has a couple mods such as full exhaust, and a cold air intake... i was wondering if anyone has a clue as to why it starts whistling when it reaches around 130mph... it's real noticeable and he doesnt have a clue what the problem might be either, so if anyone has any ideas that'd be good.

Ive never taken mine up past 120. I dont notice any whistling when I do though. But I am completely stock. Like Cronic said its probably just the CAI making some noise.

might just be wind in the cracks, between hood/fenders, door/pillars, mirrors?!?...some cars just have that whistle when you're doubling the speed limit

Default Whistling

It might be the CAI, but unless its partially blocked I doubt it. I would tend to think its air flowing through body creases, etc at those speeds. The Sentra wasnt exactly designed with those speeds in mind.

my brother's integra as well as my old toyota made a whistling, almost supercharger whine sound at certain parts of the rpm band, when the motor seems to "open up" and rise in powerband. its proably more noticeable since 5th gear is longer ratio, so it probably is more noticable.

and yeah i dont think it really matters, most car manufacturers dont do extensive high speed testing to give a rats ass if a drag noise comes into play after 130mph. unless its like an exotic or something for top end.

yea, its definitely not the intake, which does make noises (and sounds bad ass). but it might be the creases in the body fender like some of you said. he's lookin into some kits such as the buddly club 2, maybe that might help.
