today i discovered my GST has a spun rod beaing! anyone know someone with a shortblock 4g63t?? anything point in the direction to a block would be much appreciated! 813 352 9799, Jay

Just changed out my second timing belt, balance shaft belt and tensioners on my 05 evo. 138,000 miles on the stock motor and turbo and everything is still running great. I'm amazed the original turbo is still boosting well and not smoking at 138,000 miles. To date I don't think the valve cover has ever even been removed on the motor. The only thing that has broken on this car that was not a wear item was the clutch slave breaking off the tranny casing. That was due to the shop the previous owner had do the clutch adjusted the pedal too far out and it no longer self adjusted. Slave rod got over extended and wedged so the pressure plate force blew the slave off the tranny casing. It definitely seems the reason these cars ever have problems is due to the people and "shops" that usually work on them.

nixed the antlock brakes. seemily simple job that took 10 hours. learned I should have waited till engine was out. sure does weigh a chunk. plus frees up space for larger oil cooler.

installed trigger wheel on Shreddar. aw no more AEM starts soooo nice..few more changes and will be ready to make some noise.

just got in to chicago..drove 16 hours from arkansas..car runs like a champ since ive been traveling cross country and have had no issues ..i love this car it will be a sad day when i have to give her up 
. I got 29.7 mpg on my tune with 3 people in the car and fully packed...not bad for my dd.
