Headlight wiring

was looking at my headlight plug and seeing which wires were which.
the cars harness has 3 female plugs. lets call them A B and Ground

i turned on my headlights and using a test light, tested each plug
regular lights
A - hot
B - hot
Ground - ground

with high beams on
A - dead
B - hot
Ground - ground

i can't figure out for the life of me why 2 plugs would be hot for lows and one hot for high beams. how does making one wire go cold turn ON the high beams?
my test light was grounded to the frame, so i know the results are not backwards

i would ASSUME that to turn on one bulb, one plug would be hot and to turn on both low and high, 2 plugs would be hot, but its the opposite

what is going on with this ?

if they both work then what does it matter. I bet you took apart your bike when you were a kid just to see if you could put it back together. Its prolly still sitting in pieces somewhere........hahaha jk man i have not clue, why do auto companies do half the things they do.

i was installing new headlights, and per ebay, nothing must plug right in, lol.

basically the new headlights came with 2 2-wire plugs and the factory has 1 3-wire plug
i made a temp harness that made it work for now. i'm getting HID's soon (813motoring group buy #7) pics are posted in thread titled "new headlights"
