my first mod

well today I was lookign at the aircan on this thing(90 gsx) and I noticed that there is a big removable airhorn looking piece held in with rivets so me and a friend drilled them out but we also noticed this funny lookin cardboard piece behind the MAF so that was yanked as well. I remeber someone saying it is ok to remove one of the honeycombs in the MAF is it the lower one that has nothing to do with the sampling device or should I just leave this alone. Just by doing this airbox mod it pulls ALOT harder. It has a little more low end but it feels like it hits the boost harder.
Well I had a test pipe made (cat eliminator) for the grand sum of $25. It runs a lot better with it removed as well as messing with the boost control solenoid
It actually feels faster than my old 5 litre mustang! I just need to go find a stock stang to race and see maybe I am getting the rice mentality and thinking that whatever I own will beat a stang

It would be the the lower honeycomb you can back out the screw in the bottom of the maf too.

what does backing out the screw in the bottom of the MAF do? Also will I notice anything by removing the honeycomb or is it a waste of time?

Dsms tend to run rich(which is not all bad) by removing the bottom honeycomb it alows more un metered air in and leans it out slitly backing the screw(dont remove the screw) out does this too. It wont make ahuge differance but everylittle bit counts.

well I bought the K&N and it made a noticeable difference especially coupled with the test pipe I had made. I will actually be able to make it out to test and tune what time are we supposed to meet there? I am shooting for a 14 something (based on seta of the pants feel it feels as fast or faster than my old stang) Next is the pump and a boost controller. AlsoI see blue smoke on cold startup and if I let idle for awhile and lightly blip the gas is this normal no smoke under full throttle though.
