Default Need tips on custom work

i wanna cut away my front bumper so my innercooler gets more flow. i dont even necessarily think that it needs it but it cant hurt (plus i think it looks sick as hell) i searched the forums first and i couldnt find anything. i also want to paint my innercooler. i want to paint letters on the front. (DSM) in black. has anyone attempted this. should i bring it to a pro for that? let me know if any of you have attempted it and if you have any pictures. i was just gonna go to work on it with a sawzall, some spray paint, and a stencil but i thought it would be smart to ask first thanks, dale

Cutting the bumper is fairly easy just draw out were you want to cut and tape the area thats being cut out something so you have a guide to keep the cuts straight. I cut the bumper on mines to provide more flow to the intercooler and besides 1gb laser front ends are kind of wack.

What yr/ model dsm do you have.

As far as painting the intercooler, thats kind of unnecessary and ricey.
And what if you mess up, then youd be screwed, you hurt the efficiency of the intercooler when you throw paint on it. Now a very light coat wouldnt hurt but i dont think its worth the effort. Not to sound hypocritical, but I painted my intercooler all black but obviously for the opposite reason of what you want.

You dont need to put dsm on your intercooler , people already know its a dsm by looking at it and if they dont then they dont need to know what it is.

You can cut it with pretty much anything sharp to be honest, not very hard.
(Excuse the 20 dollar spray can paint job.)lol
