...if there's a vacuum leak. You haven't thoroughly explained what your idle problem was/is.

i dont think it matters, but you dont really need the egr anyways. try plugging off the vaccuum line that goes to the egr, and see what happens. your idle problem sounds serious though, I don't think an egr could cause that.

do you have a check engine light?

Anyway, presently it sounds like you have a vacuum/boost leak. You can block off the EGR if you think/know that's where your leak is.

if the egr valve itself is leaking, it will not cause the engine to stall or run like that. the most you will have is an exhaust leak. just delete the vacuum lines and go from there.

That is, unless the leak is at the gasket (where the EGR valve mounts to the intake manifold). That is what I was referring to, anyway. I assume by "EGR valve itself" you're not referring to the mounting service, though.

You should pull the code. If you don't have a scanner/logger, take it to Autozone. They'll pull it for free.

I was referring to where the egr mounts to the intake. Unless the egr valve is still active, it will not cause any problems like that except for an exhaust leak.

If the egr isnt already deleted, get rid of it and cancel out one possibility. Like stated, pull the codes for the light.
