Heres the deal
I am getting alot of questions about what I am doing along with "no dont do thats"
Basicaly I am sick of the compromises that need to be made to stay streetable and yet still have a high hp car.
My car screams from 6-10k rpms but is a dog below 5k.
I have a setup that belongs in Joes laser.
The car make awesome power for the track but just lacks the fun factor on the street unless I am going wot from 6-10k. And the only time I would do that is in a race.
So basicaly I needed to deside to make this a track car where all it does is go wot or tone it down and make it more street friendly.
My daughter who used to LOVE going for a ride in my car will no longer get in it after one wot blast on this new setup. It scared her to much.
I love my car and dont want to loose it over getting fed up with compromises.
So I am thinking of going back to the evo316g and just be happy with a car thats really fun on the street and still pretty fast (because my old 16g setup was a blast to drive).
Or going full race track car like Joe.
Trying to be the fastest out on the street is more hastle than its worth.
I now understand why Jerry does the things he does.
If you are going to have a street car the fun factor should come first, speed second.

This is one thing that I seen coming. I think you are making a big decision and I am sure going back to the evo3 16g setup for the street is a smart move, but you could kick it up a little bit with a 20g. The spool would be just about the same and you would get alot more power.
Whatever you decide, I am sure you will be happy, so that is all that counts.

I dont believe you will get alot more power with the 20g.
The reason I would do the 16g is its alot cheaper, makes almost as much power and just to see how much more power I can make with one with this new motor over my old one.
I would like to see if I can put a street car into the 10`s with a 16g and no nitrous.

I fully understand what you're talking about. It's really hard to understand until you've built a big turbo car. I know a bit about the loss of fun factor because we recently upgraded my friend's car from an Evo 16g to a 61mm turbo. No real power until 5000 rpm. All the midrange he loved was gone; the turbo was only fun WOT on the interstate. The car's been down a while switching to map-based tuning and turning into a weekend warrior street/strip car so it's fine but it did teach us a lesson about fast vs. fun.
I think my ideal setup would be a 10:1 2.3l with an FP3052 and methanol injection or a dual-fuel setup and a cyclone manifold. 500 whp peak, but awesome power from 3500-7000. I have the cyclone manifold, now I just need the 10:1 2.3l, the FP3052, and the dual-fuel setup with EMS.
(I'm actually going to be running an Evo 16g with cyclone- both of which I was actually able to afford unlike the above).
I think I might buy a 2g one day to build a setup like that with the superior suspension design of the 2g, the better looks, nicer interior, etc.

i switched from the 16g to my fp3052, i still had fun driving the car just as much as the 16g. it didnt hit full boost too much later, and makes great power by 4k. i really like driving the car on this turbo, its a blast, and it can beat most anything around. if you want, you can drive my car to see if you like it.

i think the first thing to do to try and get a couple of more rpm spool up is put a cyclone and see what it does cause what i think the 280s 35r is fine for the street but sheetmetal intakes lag a little then if that works try a stock exaust manifold with an adaptor platesee if you can get a little bit more with that you can probly get 500 to 1000 rpms but i think you set up is solid
