98 eclipse gas tank

Default 98 eclipse gas tank

everytime i try to put gas in the tank it spays out the hose or cut the pump off like its full. any suggestions?????????????

ive had where the pump would cut off thinking the gas tank was full, but not where it was spitting out gas. all i did was put the pump at different angles until it wouldn't cut off unless the tank was really full.

It usually depends on how your holding the spicket into the tank. If you try different angles and it still happens check underneath to see if something happened to the fill line.

I have the same problem. No matter what way I hold the pump it will always spray out. I have to just barely squeeze the handle to get it to pump gas. Which takes a hell of a long time to do.

Take a long extention and push it through the opening to make sure the little flapper moves completely out of the way or if there is something lodged behind it.

Other than that all I can say is pm me your number and I can take a look at it for you.
