has anybody ever tried the the 64block with a 61t crank???

 

"Yes, you could put a 4G61 crank in a 4G64 block with 88mm pistons and make a super log rod motor that would equate to around 2.1 liters. It wouldn't be a very streetable engine though. The bottom-end would handle it obviously, but you'd have to build the head to flow at RPM like that, find cams that would work with that RPM, and obviously valve-train that could handle it. Then you get to find a tranny that will shift at RPM levels like this (over 10,000rpm), which means Dog Box and a Twin-Disk Clutch setup. Then you need engine management that will work at RPM like that (AEM EMS only goes to 12,500rpm )

You can rev a normal 4G63 to 9,000-9,500rpm easily with head work and good cams and obviously a turbo that will make power up there. There's no reason to build an elaborate stroker setup if you ask me, it will just complicate things. As far as using a 4G61 crank in a 4G63 I don't know for sure if you can do it, but I'd imagine you could, you might have to use custom rods and/or custom pistons though."

i am not even thinking about doing this lol , just wanted to hear what people thought about it. btw a 2.1 destroker is a 64b with a 2.0 crank, i think a 64b with a 1.6 crank will probably be somewhere around 1.9 or 1.8... and ur right on the head part..
