bov question
why cant i pull off the tube from my stock bov to the intake ,every time i atemp this the car idles funny, ive also blocked off the same tube so that it doesnt loose vacume ,so when i rev it up high when the revs come down it stalls im guesing that it has somthing to do with the mas air ,but what ? and how do i get the bov noise ,and the car to still run good and no rough idle?????

the mass has already added fuel for the air that you are dumping out. so it runs richer while you are coming down and then it dies. the best way to overcome that issue is speed density. (maybe gm maf I've never used it so i don't know) I would route it back in if i were you the car runs and shifts so much better when you do. If it weren't because I know I'm going to go AEM then I would stick with a type R and route it back in.
What bov are you using anyway? FYI the stock plastic one is pointless if you don't route it back in.

Do a search, you find everything you need to know about it. Bascially the car meters how much air it senses is going to the engine and when you take the tube off, some of that air doesnt make it into the engine like it does with the tube connected. But the ECU doesnt know that there is any less air so it still adds the same amount of fuel causing it the run very rich.

Do searches bro all this info is posted on line...
so if you have a metal one that means you have a 1g. And I never said that the gm maf would fix that problem.

I wouldn't hurt the cars peformance just for a sound. Get a crushed 1g bov and you would hear a nice sound with the recirculation tube. I tried what you did when I had my TSI and it did the samething. The recirculation tube is there for a reason.
Doing a GM MAF setup may solve the problem. Finding a used VPC setup would be best. HKS doesn't make them anymore last I heard.

Just recirculate it. If you want a sound, get an aftermarket BOV.
get a 1g crushed bov, put that on, recirulate it back to the intake, shoulda make a nice sound, and wont die, then once uhave enough for gm maf, just upgrade and remove it, but right now im not recirculating mine, i just slow it down with grears and is fine, just my 2 cents
