Ok, so a few moths ago my check engine light came on as i was driving down the road. i had it checked out at autozone and they said it was an EGR valve malfunction and were able to turn the light off but it came back on with the same code a few days later. Well i havent had the time or money to get a new EGR valve so the light has always been on for the last few months. this morning when i fired up the car, the light never came on.i turned the car off and back on again and it didnt come on again. does the light eventually go off after a period of time or could the EGR valve have "fixed" itself, or maybe the bulb for the light just burned out. any ideas or suggestions?

 

All of the above, I would check at autozone again just to see if the ECU is actually still throwing the code

Get the code checked again and then youll know for sure.

 

yea im going today to get it checked, hopefully everything is ok but it is a DSM so its probly throwing 8 different codes at once.

My light came on a few months after I bought my car and not matter what I did it stayed on. If I start the car and the light is not on, I freak.

 

mine is on now too some fuel trim crap! Im going AEM fuck a CEL light.

 

Well i went to get it checked out today and when i fired up the car to go to autozone, the light came back on. Still the same code though, so at least nothing else is screwed up. I would like to go with AEM and forget all about CEL lights but im always broke as a joke after the insurance company rapes me every month.
