Default The next step:

What do you guys think? (Been a long time since I've talked about this peice of shit)

97 gst

Mods:
14b turbo
KNN filter
Thermal RND turbo back exhaust
Boots Gauge/Airfuel gauge
Manual Boost Controller
Eibach Pro kit springs
Tokico Blues
ACT 2100
ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate
6bolt Crank

I am looking to get back into the game with this car. As many of you may have seen, I'm currently having problems with misfiring and stuff as a result of the 6 bolt crank/1g CAS. Many have told me DSM link. I think that's the next thing I will get, but other than that. What is the next list of mods to step it up a notch?

Thanks again guys.

Fuel pump, 560's a good tune, push the 14b and probably a front mount if you dont have one yet. What are your goals for the car?

To not go slow. I don't think it's worth making a goal for 1/4 time because it's going to be slow either way. FWD holds you back.

I guess the goal would be to keep the reliability of the car as it is right now (not very reliable but not breaking every time i drive it) and to go faster.

My original path was to go with a walbro and then move into an fmount. Then MAYBE injectors + tune. Wasnt sure that i was going to go to injectors. But what the hell, it's all about the deal that i can get.

So I guess my modlist line up will be:

-DSM link 600 bucks + shipping and installation if nobody would be willing to help me out with that.
-Walbro 255- 40bucks or so?
-FMIC- Never really looked around for that but probably what 700 + piping and core?

I know of several fwd guys that will disagree with this.
Fwd`s can be quick also they just need to be set up right.

First is all maintenance.
Then you need a fuel pump. That should have been one of the first things you bought.
Next would be a fmic.
Then some way to tune and log.
DSM link is awsome and there is no real instalation. It takes 10 minutes.

Well yeah I said DSM Link first... That is what i've been told on the forums that will fix my problem. I wouldn't be going dsm link at this stage if it wasn't fixing a problem. Anybody wanna try and help me get to the bottom of this problem? It start's misfiring randomly when daily driving. It stops misfiring when I let it go back to idle and I put it back in gear but then of course it comes back shortly after.

If you don't wnt to go "slow", then I'd personally ditch the 14b after the supporting mods and maintenance is completed, and step up to at least an Evo III 16G.
