Default knocking problems

i have a 91 gsx w/ small 16g, running thru 2.5" pipes to 26x6.5x3.5 fmic, 560cc injectors, walbro 255, brand new BPR7ES ngk plugs(gone thru 3 sets just to be sure) gapped to .028, brand new ngk plug wires, changed coil packs also, i have a safc2 and egt, at 15-16psi ive done runs on this car and monitored on datalogger, and the knocks will not stop, we've run my safc2 thru 30% of the range of the fuel curve, adjusting by 1% per run, and its either its running so rich that it breaks up, or too lean and pegs the egt fast as hell, right now its at a happy medium, doesnt break up and runs good air/fuel but still knocking like crazy, any ideas on what to begin knocking out to try to fix the problem? btw ive heard that the egt can lie a bit, that if the car retards the timing too far, combustion will actually escape the exhaust valve and make the egt think its hotter than it is? dunno if thats accurate or not

Tune for no knock, fuck EGT's cause if you're not knocking your EGT's are staying in the range they should be in.

If you turn the boost down, does knock go away?

the knock begins pretty much thru the entire boost range, im gunna check my timing 2morrow, i run 93 octane always, my lifters r pretty quiet, and i cant tune for no knock, ive gone thru such a wide range of fuel curves that the knock is there even when the car is running so rich it breaks up badly, ive also tried tuning it so lean that it just straight pegs 16 on the egt and it still knocks, at that point i wuz about -40% on the afc, we started at -15% and ran it all the way down to -40% and the knocks wouldnt go away, adjusting 1-2% per run, and the knocks held out the entire length of the run
