Default Blew an IC hose today

today i was getting up on i-75 and the hose that connects my turbo outlet pipe to my lower ic pipe came loose because of of the hose clamps must have snapped. i went ahead and slowly drove home, how much of a no no was this ? i got home and put a t bolt clamp on it , that one should hold it.

anyone else ever had this happen to them ? i'm not going to keep a few hose clamps and a flat head in my car. lol

not bad, u were running extemely rich, and the worst that u could have done was shorten the life on ur O2 sensors....i think everyone has blown an IC pipe, and the first time u do it, u just about cry cuz u think u just blew the engine.....lol

I have a whole tool kit, vaccum hoses, hose clamps, hydrualic jack, jack stand, zipties, and anything else i may need to get my ass home, in the trunk.....

now all i need is a set of internals in there......

i was scared at first but i wasn't boosting high when it happend, only like 10 psi, then it just went BLEH, lol after hearing the sound of it, i immediatly had a feeling of what it was, i was lucky it was the most accessable coupling on my car lol. when up to get gas tonight, it's holding 14 psi just fine.

blowing IC pipes are cool!!! especially in traffic. its like the loudest BOV evar.... except then the car dies. if you blew the pipe COMPLETELY off, the car wont even run... fortunatly, most of the time, my couplers only come off on one side and are held against the end of the pipe... so i can at least limp home, or to the gas station.

i had my bumper held on by like 5 or 6 bolts so that i could easily rip it off to re-couple i/c pipes, then i finally got a short route setup that total, was the size of my old upper intercooler pipe alone.....now im back to the long ass pipe route, but at least got a front mount again

A T-Clamp should do the job. Just make sure the thing is tight.
