Blown Transmision
Yesterday i blew my transmision on a 96 eclipse GS only 30k miles on it automatic... It came to me as a shock since the low miles.. I have only had the car for about a week i bout it about a week ago for 5.5k... How much money do you think it will cost to fix labor and everything... And how long i need my car? this really sucks i've heard they have the worst transmissions...

I agree. The only way that transaxle would of gone out is if somehow you were driving like normal and all of a sudden threw it in reverse, or possibly maybe had a fluid leak. Did the tranny just fail on you or literally grenaded?

I was driving on linebaugh.. and all of the sudden it felt like a click and i was like i must of hit something but i could have sworn i didnt... i pulled over right away and got out and saw smoke smoke coming from underneath and transmission fluid pouring out.. I imediatly drove down the block to 7-11 called my dad and he called a toe-truck. I left a huge spot of transmision fluid i would say all of it leaked out.. Everyone i talked to said i blew the transmision.. The mechanic hasnt looked at it all the way yet hopefully he will toda... Anyone else have any oppions on what happened?
