no but seriously i was in your boat one time... no cam gears unless you plan on getting cams or nitrous anytime soon.. thats mainly the only thing you will need to change your timing for... intake mani comes absolutely LAST, that is for keeping the horse power up at a super-high rpm, which no offence but im guessing your car isnt there yet... if you are looking for some kinda noticable differance i would say if you have intake and exhuast get some headers and by-pass the cat... thats when you make some decent powergains for cheap on those bull shit 420A motors

if you wanna play with the 420 and make power, id say go nitrous and do it right! no cuttin corners....best bet is sell your car, save the 250, and buy a 1G or maybe a cheap 95/96 if you can find it.

yup... nitrous, cold spark plugs, cam gears to shed some timing and some balls to go through with it... it really is hard to make real power w/ those cars, unless turbo charged, or in your future case... nitrous done right

nitrous done right would be a direct port kit...that way your spraying the fuel and nitrous in equal amounts to each cyl. a 65$ msd timing box to retard the timing about 1 or 2 degrees every 75hp, bottle heater, and fuel pressure safety switch. nitrous done right is just as reliable as any other power adder.

I'm going to start making this a default post for all the 2GNT posts I come across.

I was once like you. I had a 95 Eclipse RS. I put a huge spoiler on the car (terminator II: whale tail edition) and I wanted to turbo it (hahn). I joined tampabay DSM and started my research on turboing a 2GNT.

Six months of research later I came to the conclusion that a turbo kit for my 2GNT would cost more than a 92 Laser AWD I had my eye on.

On September 9, 2002, I bought a 92 Laser AWD (VIRGIN stock, 128,000 miles) for $2500 from a used car salesman (you know the type). A little later, I sold the 2GNT for $3900. To that day, I have been MUCH happier with the car I drive.

I know it's hard to leave a car stock, but waiting for a deal on a 4G63T car is well worth it.

I share my experience with you hoping you might get something out of it. A nice 4G63 DSM

if you are worried about the 1g's not looking as good im sure there are 1g people that will tell you they look alot better... (if that made sence) i think you might be surprised how easy it is if you really look... call friends and get their zip code for autotrader online... hell i went to ft lauderdale and stayed w/ my bro a night to get mine... but you cant touch the deal i got... not to boast or anything
