WTT: Alpine IVA-D900 for IVA-D901/IVA-D300.. Read for details.
Ok folks, here is the jist of it...
I have a like new Alpine IVA-D900 installed currently, but I am needing the IVA-D901 for the ipod connection ability. EVERYTHING else on the units are the same, all the same inputs/outputs as well as same options. I will throw cash on top of the deal to make it worth your while. Please let me know if you have one and if you will trade it for the SAME item practically and make a few bucks.
I MAY be willing to trade my IVA-D900 for an IVA-D300 as well, but we would have to discuss it first.
Anyone having what I'm looking for please contact me on my cell at 813-393-6902 or via AIM at DaMacIRC. Time is of the essence so please let me know ASAP. Thanks!!

if the Iva-d310 is anything like the 900 then you have an auxilary input. you buy a $10 dual rca to audio male stereo jack, like this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099392032460
charge the ipod, plug it in and set the alpine to aux. since the ipod audio output is designed for smal earbuds the voltage output will be low so I don't know how loud the internal amp on the alpine will be able to make the final signal, but since you can return the cord to bestbuy it'd be worth a try to avoid the hassle of swapping the unit.
if your real good you can get a panel mount female audio jack and mount it to your dash ( in a nice spot) and leave the rca plugged in all the time, then with just a double ended male stereo wire you can plug your ipod into your cars dash ( like some of the newer cars are coming with).
I have the d310 and was looking at this as a possibility but since I have watch movies while I drive....I mean when I am parked...... I don't have time to listen to music anymore.

I understand what you mean, but my reason for wanting the newer unit is so I can watch movies/play music directly from my alpine unit. The KCA-420i gives you the ability to control the ipod directly from the headunit. I am using AV cables for the time being on AUX 1 as a substitute until I can find someone who wants to swap and make a few bucks at the same time so I can do what I set out to do.
Using the AV cables is fine, except when I want to change the song I must try to navigate through the ipod where it would be much easier to use my headunit using the ipod interface mentioned above.

gotcha, I have never tried controlling the ipod while in a moving vehicle but I can imagine. Does the ipod video have a video output, I am not familiar with the 420i is it used on the "docking port" plug? if so I'd still make sure it has the video output. You may have already found out the answer but if not that's the only obsticle I can see.
but see, I can use both if necessary. I can't find conclusive evidence where it does or it doesn't. But I would still utilize the music portion a lot more so that is priority.
So thats why I need an iva-d901/iva-d300/iva-d310...

The d900 blows the d310 out of the water besides the touchscreen. Pixels are 3x what is on the 310, more AV outs, AV ins, etc... I'll even throw in a CD Changer and an AI-Net cable for it
