i have a 87 corolla with a bridgeported carbed 13b an a couple other things done to it i was wondering what would it take to turbo it. i have a complete turbo kit off a turbo2 including the manifolds how hard would this be and what else would i need?

 

Change the exhaust to the turbo 2 exhaust mani. Custom pipe from turbo flange to whatever your gonna run. Intercooler set up with piping running to carb (they call it a blow thru setup), which brings me to the biggest part. You either need to modify whatever carb your running to work with the turbo setup, or buy one. I believe holley was making a blow thru carb setup that was pretty good, but im sure there are others.

Now, just to set it straight, i have never used a blow thru setup, or a turbo carb car. But it has been done, and there is tons of info out there, but that should be a good place to start.

 

It's a fair amount of work.

You'll need a blowthrough carb, a new exhaust manifold, a FMIC (doubt there's room for a V in the rolla) custom intake piping, or perhaps auxillary injection (not sure how that would work on a carb setup).

I'm most interested in how this beast would be tunned. Larger pump? Rising rate FPR?, an MSD or 2 prolly wouldn't hurt either.
