Heatsoak?
Hey guys I'm a bit of a noobie when it comes to turbos, forced induction, and intercoolers... So bear with me please.
I still read about the MS6 almost religiously every day, and lately i heard something about heatsoak(ing)? what does it mean when you get heatsoak? I heard it referenced to the reason being that the MS6 doesn't have a hoodscoop to accommodate the top mount intercooler.
thanks for replies

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.
the top mount intercooler (TMIC) has the duct through the front grille, hence the sleeper hood with no scoop. Heatsoaked is when the intercooler gets too hot to effiecently cool the air going into it (the engine heats up the intercooler if you are doing multiple runs in a single "sitting". You tend to start detonating when this happens if you are running above factory boost on most cars. One very very easy way to eliminate this is to change out the top mount for a front mount intercooler. Chances are it will run about $1000 to hook one up on a new mazdaspeed6 but it's well worth it. Just switching to a FMIC from my TMIC on my old FC at night the car pulls considerably harder. As soon as the sun goes down you can notice the 10-15 extra hp immediatly.

Now there's some logic!
