Is it gettting fuel now?

How long has this engine sat?
Sometimes you have to put oil in the rotor housings to prime it up some, help out the compression.

But since the alarm was arming, pull the plugs out to see if it got flooded, let the plugs dry and try to restart.

I have used ATF for only the AFT trick, which brakes down carbon.

I use motor oil in the rotor housings to help prime/and build up compression.

Theres a few members here can vouch for me

if you really wanna get technical, the "BEST" thing is low temp grease, it fills the ridges and builds up compression like a mother f-er. oil would work, but maybe a milkshake from McDonalds would work the same too. i wouldn't reccamend it. read into builders info and they will tell you, as i will having worked for isc racing services here in winter haven where we build nothing but scca miata and rx7's, use atf when dealing with a motor thats been sitting or freshly rebuilt with low temp grease as the "goop" for side seal installation.
i'm not getting on your case roatry7, but he should know the appropriate ways before trying out "other methods".

Why would you say ATF is any better than motor oil?
Just cause a shop (that you use to work at) does it,does not technically prove that its better than how I do it.I also learned my method from a shop that has built SCCA cars also, over 5 yrs ago.

I personally would not use ATF.You failed to mention to him how bad it will smoke, and smoke out his neighborhood.Or how badly it will foul out the plugs.

I only use ATF to try to help a carbon locked seal or engine.

Im not tring to say your "method" does not work.Mine works, but I wouldnt say its improper, when motor oil gets injected into the engine rotor housings anyways.
