Default RX8 transmission...works on 20B?

Done few searches in the forums and google etc and cant find a definite answer, if anyone knows if the RX8 transmission fits fine on 13BT, 13BRE and/or 20B, I would appreciate if you'd let me know.

Thanks,

Mario

I have no idea on the bolt patern or whats interchange able on the RX8 to the RX7 vice versa.

13b/13bt/and 13b re (I think) all can mate to a TII tranny.. only diffrence with the n/a is you need a clutch disc that has the splines of a TII disc, but the outter diameter for a n/a disc if you use a n/a flywheel.

What are you tring to do,if you dont mind me asking?

Theirs not point in having one. The 6th gear of the FE tranny is dam near the same as the 5th gear on s5 turbo trannies so you only shift more (6th is NOT an overdrive gear). Torque breaks trannies, rx8 has 164ft.lbs which is less than a stock kouki turbo. Basically they took an fd tranny, made it smaller, shoved an extra gear in there (which means the gears are smaller-made to fit) and gave it crap for torque/horsepower hoping nobody mods their car and break it. I know a guy fron rx7club running 487rwhp to his stock s4TII transmission and it still holds up fine after 50,000miles of mild abuse. But you can use a 6spd T-56 tranny from any chevy which can bolt up with the right Kennedy Engineering bellhousing adaptor.

An FD tranny will bolt up to a 13bt/13b but it needs a custom driveshaft and mount. But there really is no need to use it, the TII transmission of any series can hold pretty good until you get past the 500hp mark. That cool you live in N. Ft Myers, I live up by Punta Gorda.

i want to put an rx8 6-speed in my turbo II, closer gears means constant higher revs, but it might not be as strong at the drag strip, oh well. as far as comparing the t2 to the fd tranny, they are really similar on the inside. i have done many 8000 rpm launches on drag radials and 400+whp in my t2 and no problems yet, so the t2 drive train is really stout.
