Default it stinks in here!!!

so not too long ago i started to smell this bad stench inside my car. i hadnt cleaned my car in a while so i gave it a very thorough clean(shampoo, seats removed n everything). however the stench isnt out. i figured out that it wuz coming from the shifter so i replaced the tranny fluid bc the smell would become stronger as i accelerated. so now all i smell is tranny fluid!! what could this be??? i dont see any leaks but im still worried about it. dammit i cant afford to fuck up the tranny right now. thanx in advance.

If you have a 5spd its Gear oil. Mine had the same smell. One reason it smelled was that the seals in the shifter that makes everything seal tight so you have no noise or smell was broken. See if your seal is broken from the shifter to the tranny. if all that is broken, that might be why you smell it. That was my problem.

Don't eat so much taco bell!

Like he said, check the shifter boots and stuff. Gear oil stanks nasty. Especially if it drips on your exhaust or cat or
