i think the clutch is slipping and not all the power is going through the drive shaft to back wheels, so when it slips it burns and smells funny.

having problems with my 88 na too. i think i have to change my rear main seal again and another seal behind the rear main seal. plus my dowel pin o rings are shot and is leaking oil somewhere in my flywheel... making my clutch slip around 3k.
hope you fix your car soon.

my enigne still revs just fine, im taking it to a shop thursday, i havent driven it since i first noticed so i hope their isnt major damage to the tranny. its gone a cost 450 plus tax. thats for parts and labor. new clutch flywheel seals all that good stuff i found a cheap guy off of 580 in oldsmar.

have you ever done tranny work before? really not too hard dude... if you can remove your tranny yourself it will be alot cheaper to install your clutch and have your mechanic do the rest.... n/a fc owners tend to be cheap so im just saying what id do lol
good luck

i wish i had the money to spend on my fc, i wish i had all the tools to do it myself. i wish i had the time. but im a full time college student and i have a full time job. so barely anytime for anything even to do my laundry thats building up. But hey i have done other work on it myself, i replaced the brake pads, changed the oil and simple stuff like that so its not like i dont do work on it.
