Default Draw through carb 12A

I'm setting up a draw through carb setup on my 1st gen at the shop , I will have a Holley 600 , Blue FP , T25 , hacked RB Collected street header . 3" exhaust

Will probally be running 8-10psi , any input from anyone who has done this before ? Maybe i'll buy a carb box or make my own and do blow through , I dunno .

It must be turbo !!!!

I'm going to tap into oil feed at the OMP and run premix , drain it with a tap , should be fine , run lots of 93

itll never happen, its the gayest idear evaR..

actually, youd be better off doing a blow thru if you can. buy a car box from vortech, they use boxes for their centrifugal blower kits, but would work fine on a turbo application.

anyways, i could go into details on why blow thru is better than draw thru, but i dont wanna... you just ahve to beleive me that its easier to blow than draw and Better too.

what turbo are you fixin to run?

I see more draw through, than those with pressurized boxes.

You do not have enough fuel to run anywhere near 8 to 10 psi...I would go with a bigger carb, but carbs suck ass, go with FI, and tune less and make more power..lol

just cuz there are more draw thru doesnt mean its better...

remember, you cannot pressurize liquid (IE: fuel) and the long route from the carb to the cylinders makes fuel drop-out a big problem, as well as puddling inside the intercooler and pipes... not to mention you would have a HUGE problem on your hands if your car ever decided to backfire t hru the intake... IF, i said.

Thats one reason.

Try to make the throttle cable seal & move will using a sealed box design..umm fun...

Why not do the draw through, with out the intercooler.just use a u bend and done, bring the air under the carb?

hotpiping is Teh Suxor and promotes alot more knock than you really want on a rotary... and Vortech sells Carb boxes SPECIFICALLY for boosted applications such as this... which means they have already worked around the issue of sealing a throttle cable...so that would make sealing the throttle cable, uhm... easy.

its expensive... $700 ish for a Vortech Carb "enclosure"

otherwise, you can get a rebuilt carb w/ new throttle shaft bushings and seals, solid fuel bowl floats, and build a carb HAT from 5.25" ID tubing w/ a nozzle welded to it for probalby under $100 which would work just as good. installs just like a regular air cleaner.

check out this thing:

this is the other cheap solution... you just have to make sure the carb is built to handle the pressure and doesnt leak.

Go to mazdatrix.com the do alot of blow troughs. Thay have the carb hats and what nots. You can push 12 psi on stock rotors with no problem and have heard of 28 psi on a 12a pushing 680hp! Now that is what Iam talking about ! ! !
