Default LHT JRSC Integra: heat exchanger and ECT affects

Should I consider changing to a smaller heat exchanger, or is the race version the best for this situation?:

I have the race heat exchanger installed and my intake temps stay low.
However, my coolant temps are way too high.
Since it is hot out, the car reached 220 while in traffic the other day.
How high is acceptable for daily driving and highway use on a supercharged car?

I upgraded my radiator as suggested. I got a Mishimoto full width, with 2 slim fans. Using 75% water, water wetter, and Honda Blue coolant (25%).

I think the heat exchanger is blocking too much air flow to the radiator. It is sitting in front (had to cut my bumper to get it to fit).
Would the street heat exchanger block less air and help with cooling?

I do still have A/C if that is a concern.
This is on a 98 Integra Type R with the MVM stepper pulley and 3.8 nose cone pulley.

If I turn the heater on full, the temps will drop to the mid 180's in just a minute or two.

Thank you ahead of time for your suggestions.

The race heat exchanger is only 2" thick which is way thinner than most front mounts.I would not down size on it. The front mount we use on turbo kits is 3.5" core and we don't have a heating issue even in Florida. The radiator sounds good but not all slim line fans are equal.

We only use SPAL and they our perform anything we have tested. There's a lot of chinese slim line fans that don't move as much air as stock fans and can cause heating issues.
My Type R ran 450whp daily with AC and a 3.5" precision intercooler and never got over 190F.

The slim fans are also Mishimoto (12"). They feel like they move a fair amount of air.
Judging by the specs posted online for both the SPAL and Mishimoto, they should move roughly the same amount of air for 12" fans.

However, because their posted specs (thickness) for the shroud are wrong, I was not able to use it and just have the fans installed straight to the radiator.

I will see if I am able to return the Mishi fans and purchase the SPAL.
Could you tell me what size fans are best and if you use a shroud or just the fans? A part number would be great.
* I was going to purchase the Koyo rad and SPAL fans, however I was warned that with the Kamikaze header, I would not be able to get any combination of fans/shroud to fit with the Koyo & Kami header.

My only concern is that my temps never changed from what I experienced with the stock radiator to the new radiator. This is what led me to believe that the intercooler might be hindering airflow. However, I will trust you on this if you say it will not affect the airflow. I will add that in order to get the intercooler to fit, I had to cut the black "fins" out of bumper. My thought was that these might stabilize the air and help it to go into the radiator rather than everywhere else.

Someone suggested timing could be increasing my coolant temps. I can send a datalog and my calibration, but I don't think that is the cause. AFR's are perfect and I do not have an EGT sensor.

First off SPAL rate there CFM mounted to a core, meaning there have more resistance and still move "X" amount of air. I have yet to see any of the same size move close to a SPAL. I have 2 - 12" SPAL fans mounted to an S2000 Koyo Radiator and it will still take your breath away when you crank the fans.
I don't think timing is an issue under normal driving, the other idea might be a very slight head gasket issue. I have seen a very slight leak frim the combustuion into the water jacket .

Being that the Honda HG is only 2.5 years old with only 3 track events, I highly doubt it is bad. I rebuilt the entire motor. The coolant does not have any oil in it at all.

Ok, I am sold on the SPAL fans. I am able to retun the Mishimoto shroud kit, so I just need to get my hands on the SPAL first.

Thanks for your help
