Just briefly introing myself. I'm the Shodan, the person who designed the turbo for Malcolm. I'm mainly on Honda-Tech, Evolutionm and Yellowbullet forums.
I'm really glad that Malcolm was able to work with that turbocharger. After a long search ghostofnyc gave me the opportunity to make him and others this GT3540S as well as his previous Silver surfer.
I'll just quickly show for others an example of the turbocharger that he had, though His was in a Red custom coating. (Which I won't be doing anytime soon ever again )
As I finished the turbine housing to accept the larger exhaust wheel as we used a modified stage 5 wheel. Alpha was a little skeptical at first, but hopefully he is now happy with that decision that was made. after the 660whp mark, Malcolm may experience some backpressure due to the volute size, but should still be ok for now. Alpha, feel free to let me know of your opinions on his next steps, (if any)
Turbine high heat coated
I recently (about a year now) developed a series of upgrades for the GT3540S, into the Reaper turbocharger, that would allow about 20% improvement over the standard Garrett compressor wheel design. Every other part of the turbo is true Garrett. All these examples use a High heat ceramic coating to keep engine bay temps down, and to keep the turbo looking its best. These (as well as Malcolm) uses a bolted 360 degree thrust bbearing system as opposed to a spring loaded system to hold the thrust bearing in
Let me know of questions I can answer. Congrats again to Alpha and Malcolm for a job well-done.
