How to Replacing Front Wheel Studs. The easiest way.

Replacing Front Wheel Studs. The easiest way.

I have just finished up replacing the wheel studs on the front driver side of my 2006 EX Coupe. While looking up threads on here on how to remove old wheel studs, everything I found seemed like almost everything on the hub need to be removed. If you look on the heat shield behind the rotor, you will notice a bend that curves around a wheel stud slot. If you hammer out a wheel stud, you do not have to remove anything other than the wheel itself (and the caliper of course)! Here's some pics (attached in order) with steps:

Step 1: Once wheel is removed, take car out of gear and rotate rotor until the backside of the wheel stud lines up with the hole in the heat shield.

Step 2: Hammer out old lug nut and remove from behind the rotor (Pliers may be needed to reach stud).

Step 3: Continue to turn rotor and remove wheel studs until all are removed from assembly.

Step 4: Slide new wheel stud into rotor and use a lug nut to force the wheel stud firmly into the rotor.

Step 5: Continue to turn rotor and install new wheel studs while repeating step 4 until all are replace.

Step 6: Well, honestly you can figure it out from here.

Step 7: Sell car.

Step 8: Buy 240.

Step 9: Return years later when car breaks and you still haven't completed step 7.

Pics are attached to show the curve in the heat shield along with removal/install of wheel studs.

Honestly not sure if this is in the right place considering I haven't been on here since 2012. But I could care less. Hope this helps.
