So my driver door lock gave out and wouldnt lock. I have power locks, so when i pressed it the passenger door locked but driver didnt budge. Went to junkyard and replaced driver door actuator. Put everything together and still didnt lock. I dont know whats going on but my passenger lock gets stuck at times and you cant open the door from inside or out. I was hoping to see if i can just use the locks manually with out the power locks and how do i do it? Hubby has a 97 civic lx with power locks but they dont work so he does it manually dont know how but he got the car like that.

 

Sit in your car and while pulling the door latch manually open push the lock button on drivers door. Tell me if both pass and driver lock. This is a safety feature.
If the door switches all test fine, I would look at replacing the power lock control module. (The blue box in side your door, or in driver side kick panel later years)

 

it doesnt do it manually it felt hard to push. pass is fine locks and unlocks with no prob i switched out the blue box with hubbys and it works after all day of taking apart my whole door insides and putting it back together it locks and unlocks but in a weird way not like its supposed to. ima just get an alarm installed with the control to see if they can do something with it or is there anyway i can uses it manually without power

 

Did this car ever have factory keyless entry?
When you say it doesn't feel right, Do you mean electrically or mechanical?

 

im not sure i just bought it like a month ago i dont think so though. it doesnt feel right when i lock it with my hands

 

You have a bad latch mechanism. You think it was a pain to change the blue box try this...

i read the forum but that was for if your door doesnt open my prob is the driver door not locking. iy started working a bit but it stopped working again with the door open i pull the handle and try to lock it manually but its a bitch its so hard and it wont budge i cant even lock it from the outside i think it has to do something with the key hole im staring at the actuator and its not moving but i just replaced it so i know it works anyone help please
