i have a ls motor that needs new main bearings. so i figured since i want to build lsvtec, why dont i throw some pistons in there. i got a set of used type r pistons and type r rods to go in there. know i know new parts are always better but will it hurt to go with used pistons and rodsin my ls motor? i just want a little more balls before i build my lsvtec. when i do build ls vtec im definatly gonna use new pistons. but for now, will used pistons and rods hurt anything? thanx for the help!

 

i hope u got OVERSIZED pistons

and new/used dont rreally matter as long as it not 200k used.

check the pistons for cracks along the ring lands and anyother shit.

 

and type-r pistons have to be cut to fit on ls rods.

will cost about 40$

 

oversized???? what do you mean? oh yea i have type r rods too. does that make a difference for the crank?

 

type r rods on ls crank wont work...different rod to stroke ratio
