D16 bogging
Hey, Just bought a 95 civic ex and I've been having a couple issues. First off the rpms fluctuate from about 800 to a little over 1000. I was told it was the iacv. I took it off cleaned it and it seemed to help a bit at first. Then going from first to second it decided to bog. Giving it more gas just made it worse. Gave it a sec and it was fine again. Then driving in 5th on 95 it did it again. Gave it gas and began to bog. Pulled over and gave it a sec again and it was fine. One thing I noticed was both times it happened the gas gauge showed I had a quarter of a tank left. I was told it has a new fuel pump and the gas tank was cleaned out. Any Ideas? Thanks
I think its ur injectors man

Didn't check the injectors yet.. Changed out my spark plugs and in the process found a vacuum leak on the TB. Bought a new gasket and putting it on today. Hopefully it was the cause of some the problem.
sounds like the fuel pump may be on its way out. but check injectors, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, timing etc. also could be a tps issue...

any verdict? I had a del sol si with the z6, my problem was similiar but it ended up being a faulty ignitor. It went out going down the road.
So far the vacuum leak played a huge part. Still idles a little rough. But I was told the iacv was going out. Now my #3 spark plug wire keeps popping off. That's when it will idle low and hesitate. Might check the valve cover gasket and pcv valve or get new plugs. Oh and it has a new fuel pump.
If the plug wire keeps popping off just pull the wire out of the boot a little and crimp in the bronze part a little bit should fit a little more snug. a rough idle can be anything, just hit and miss unless theres a CEL. You could start by replacing the IACV just to eliminate that posibility.
Will do. Also, there is no cel. And I don't feel up to spending abot 170 on an iacv. That's autozones price. Honda is closer to 200. Still feel I should change and check the valve cover gasket since they used gasket maker on the tb. I see a little on one of the corners of the vc. Who uses that crap and trusts it anyways?
