Default B16a vs B16a2 differences in block?

So I have a 99 Si, and a B16a short block I wanna build for it. Would I run into any problems dropping a B16a block in my Em1? Stock ECU and harness. Will be a mild motor rebuild with ARP studs.

Whats the differences between blocks?

There are no significant differences. The fan switch is in a different location. I'm not sure if the early B16 engines are equipped with a location for he knock sensor. I can check tomorrow.

Ok cool, so just the fan switch might be in a different spot, and possibly no knock sensor. Ill have the check to see if maybe there is a spot so I can drill/tap one.

That it?

You should be able to use the thermostat housing of the B16A2 on the B16A so that the fan switch won't have to be changed.
