ok i built a motor for someone that just put it in the car it is running perfect and strong already been to track not one problem...well he just changed out his stock Tb and old distributor for a 66mm and NEW not reman distributor now his Ce light stays on no blinks just one..even when i reinstall the old and reset it stays on..the car still runs top notice not one drop of smoke or miss even to 8k what could be wrong?

 

just throwing it out there.....when the owner originally changed the dizzy and t body, was the key on or off? I have had a few instances when i've ran across this and its acutally shorted out the ecu....i know it sounds far fetched, but anythings possible.....what about swapping ecu's just to see, if not i'd start measuring voltages and make sure wiring/harness didnt get shorted somehow

yep when i had a solid light my ECU was fucked

 

Almost positive its the ecu

 

well update i tried me ecu it did the same thing so i was like fuck....well found it the moron cut and sliced the 2 wires together"the ones you jump to check the blinks"i untwised them and magic the light went off,so then i unpluged the tps just to make sure the codes worked and got the code 7 so alls good,

He said he was told that plug was for when people check there ecu it helps give full power to the ecu.i just looked at him like wow.don't ever let any of urs friends touch this car.or i will never help again
