Shotrt throw and bushings into a GSR
very easy thing to do, got to have the car in the air because the bolts you will be looking for reside on the other side of the exhaust. you can drop just the bolts to release the shifter itself and slide the new one in after lubing it. or drop the exhaust and lower that section of shifter linkage and replace the small bushing and then add the short shifter as well. not an easy job for a newb and not a very hard one either. and as for the bolts i dont remember it being anything special but if i get a chance i will break out the super thick daddy manual and look for ya since i have mine down right now as well
short shifters = pwned syncros
dont belive everthing you hear !! short shifter owns you!!!!!!!!!
Dammit....i wish everyone could come to a consensus on if the short shifter is good or bad for your tranny!!!!!!???

short shifters really don't ruin a transmission directly, however in some cases they may contribute to the wearing of synchro's prematurely. remember, the angle of the shift rod on the shift linkage is not changed when a short shifter is installed...its just lowered making the distance the knob has to travel shorter...and ultimately faster. however, the difference in the time it takes to shift from one gear to the next with a short shifter compared to a regular shifter is not going to affect 1/4 mile times. or if it does...by .001 thousands of a second.
what wears synchro's is shifting hard and without properly using the clutch. thus, if someone shifts hard and extremely fast and doesn't have good timing with the clutch then the synchro's will wear faster.
personally, i don't think short shifters are really worth the money. the 70-100 dollars or whatever people pay for them could be better spent on a performance part that will actually improve performance.

buy a obx shortshifter and get some new bushings and you will shit your pants on how your car shifts.
total cost 53$
i paid 38 for my obx short shifter, which is not as short as b&m or skunk2
the busings also make hella differance if urs are worn. i got nuespeed shifter bushings for 15$
letsrollagn has an obx as well, we love these things to death.
the only good thing obx makes if ya ask me.
