Default Problem w/p28 & GSR manifold

b18c1/p28 (stock gsr map)/crx

I have removed all components that have to do w/ the butterflies in the GSR manifold (except the butterflies themselves). I have plugged up any unused nipples on the manifold.

The car runs great in all gears. The only problem I am having is the car will bogg for a few seconds in first gear a little after vtec crossover then run perfect.

Is this typical when running the stock gsr manifold w/ a p28?

Well that IS why those butterflies are there.. They increase low end torque and help higher rshared_pm flow as well..you get one or the other, and when they dont work, you dont get both.

Thank you for your input. I understand why they are there. I am using a p28 with a stock gsr map. I understand that a p28 does not run the butterflies. During the time that I am driving the car (prior to buying a single runner intake manifold) I was wondering if this is the reason for the car bogging during vtec activation in first gear only or not.

If this is not a situation that you have come across please don't respond with obvious statements. Thanks.

It wasnt a "well duh moron". It was me saying that you WILL end up with a bog on the top end since the runners are locked in position for low end power, and the fuel maps have been tuned to work in conjunction with the butterflies. I understand that unless you set up an output with a relay you can not operate the IABs with a p28, I have an s300 in one myself.

Get a skunk2 style intake manifold & a new eprom chip for the engine with the manifold & rock out.
