Default Alluminum Radiator vs Stock

My h22 turbo is hitting 234 degrees so I ordered the Mishimoto alluminum radiator. Does anyone know of the degree change it should make??? If it can drop 20-30 degrees that would be lovely lol.

The radiator will help with your temperatures but I would make sure you have a better fan to go with it to make it worth while. Because the radiator is thicker the fan needs to be more powerful to get the proper airflow over the cooling fins. The FAL bolt on fans are great but a little pricey. Most electric fans push/pull more air than stock. Just dont use the little pull through radiator tabs or zip ties. They do damage the radiator. It only takes a few minutes to make some kind of bracket to bolt up the fan. The fan does its job much better if it has a shroud as well. My H22 never goes over 185 degrees with a stock EG radiator and a 12" electric fan that kick on at 100 degress.

I would try to get some heat out of your engine bay if you can. It will help control the temperature. Put some heat wrap on your manifold and downpipe or pick up a heatshield or wrap for your turbo. Every little bit will help you.

The problem IMO is the way the downpipe/dumptube was made. BOTH are right on the radiator !

Also, you have a 170* Tstat that has been modified to flow more. I too reccomended before to get some SPAL fans and possibly a shroud, this will help you out big time compared to those knock off slim fans he originally went with.

The only upgrade he did to that car as far as cooling was the tstat, additional pusher fan, and rewired to switched power.

New fans/shroud and with the radiator you already purchased should get your temps under control.
