Default hydro Vs cable tranny

Hey T.R i currently have a cable tranny but will be doing a swap soon.

what benefits does the hydro tranny bring compared to the cable?

I have heard that cable trannys with lsd are hard to find and alot more expensive.

If someone could give me a rundown of the pro and cons of eather one that would be great thanks

I personally like the cable more because I can adjust the clutch.
I also blew 2 cable transmissions in less than 2 weeks. so if you take off yours let me know lol I might need it if I don't sell the car.

lol ^ alright i will let you know. I just don't know the major differences between the 2 i have driven a car with a hydro before and the shift felt alot smoother but there are so many problems that can come up. With a cable there really only is one problem and that would b the cable lol.

I guess i will stick with the cable

Its really all up to the person building the car, a hydro tranny has a smoother shift but is a little more expensive and their is no adjustment for the clutch pedal, a cable tranny is a little more rough in the shift but can work just as good, ive used both and would use either one, it also depends on the car its going in, if your car is origionally a cable tranny car then youll need to buy the hydro to cable conversion. You can get any part for both trannys as long as you have the money to spend, and i have to disagree with got Boost, no offense but anything can go wrong with a manual tranny, cable or hydro, and its not just the cable thats bad, anything can brake or go bad, diffs-clutches-pilot bearings-flywheels,ect any of these could brake or go bad in a cable or hydro its not just the cables that go bad---

Unless you do fabrication work to put hydro components into the car then even when you convert your still going to have a cable. Its just a series of linkages and levers that push the hydro shift fork and use your stock cable. I have a y8 and the matching tranny in my car and I freaking LOVE it. Sure hydro is a tiny bit easier to push but grow some balls lol, this works. I've heard the b series kits have some flex in them but that may be the older stuff. Mine has no less play or flex than the regular cable setup. I even upgraded my clutch and felt almost no increase in pedal feel.

Hydro transmissions are nice if you have the money as previously stated, but a cable tranny will do just fine.
