In response to your hondata comment:
How long ago was it that I didn't have an s200 dealer kit? 2-3 years ago & I still had the romeditor licensing that I paid for? Do you want me to try and find the invoice from several years ago?

I advertised hondata tuning in my signature for customer's which had the s200 interface box. I did in fact have access to the romeditor. Legally!

Get your fact's strait. I have never falsely charged a customer or mislead them in any way.
Vega, I honestly don't care to be in the mix...if Alpha was pirating software then let calvin come on here and make a scene. IF alpha was tuning cars with crome and charging people for ectune....let those people come on here and make a scene. Otherwise, really all you are trying to do is make a scene about some of your competition.

In response to your Hondata stuff.....how did you have a rom editor license legally w/o a Hondata box? Much less, how were you tuning Hondata's for other people w/o the dealer kit?
Dealer Application

So......

Calvin,

The question of whether or not Alpha tuned the cars w/o your permission or license purchasing is not what I want to discuss. Hopefully you will get that resolved. I am only suggesting that you think about whom you have make a post about it. Vega, I am shocked that you see no issue with your post. Not only is this your life...tuning cars is all you have....you are a moderator on this site. You can edit, delete, lock, etc of this thread. You are not unbiased, two sided mediator. I think that if you are going to keep posting things that directly impact your tuning business in this forum, you need to give up your right as moderator. I have known you for a while now and can't believe you still stoop to measures like these. You have a good thing going, seriously don't head off in the wrong direction as a business shark.

I am friends of John Vega and Alpha both, and I have tried to stay on the sidelines for this one, but I think it has gone too far. I understand you asked Vega to post this thread BASED ON THE INFORMATION HE WAS GIVEN (likely by yourself). But what you know, or THINK you know, could be the furthest from the truth. Alpha has admitted to lying to customers about the software they were actually tuned on to offer them better peace of mind due to known faults with the Crome software, and he was wrong for that. BUT, I can tell you first hand that Alpha is a great, stand up guy, as you see by him having the balls to man up to his faults. Were all humans. Humans make mistakes. But it takes a real man to confess to his wrong doings. Aside from what he has admitted, I have yet to see any further proof of these allegations that he has been tuning on an illegal (pirated, stolen, expired, or otherwise) version of the eCtune software. So what I reccomend to everyone here, is before you go making any false accusations, thus making your SELF guilty of SLANDER and DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER, please do your research, gather evidence to back your claims, and THEN say what needs to be said. To be quite honest, to anyone like myself having any knowledge of the laws, as of right now this is all hear say, and you have absolutely DICK.

Now let it be known, Alpha and Vega are both good friends of mine, who have both gone out of their way for me numerous times and always been there to help me out, so I dont wanna hear anyone saying Im bias for any reason. I am just looking at things not only from a logical standpoint, but also from a LEGAL standpoint. I appologize if I have offended anyone, but I just felt things had gotten to a point where my input was warranted.

VERY WELL SAID.. its sad that this is going this way when if Calvin would just see what Alphas faults are and understand he was just an employee and didn't cut checks. He would find his real issue. we all go jerked from that shop. Many people were hurt because of the way they handled biz etc. we all live and learn!

Correct. I took NO money from customers. Every single dollar that I worked for was paid to the shop. Salary. Period

Just my opinion though...
I agree. Regardless of why John Vega was involved he is still a third party. Calvin knew and knows howto get in touch with me. He has my e-mail. He has my phone number

After that whole things is going on he asked support from Craig moates and stating he is using eCtune?

Maybe he bought eCtune PRO(single car) under a false name and is doing something so he can tune multiple cars. If he never send that email stating he is using eCtune it would be a whole different story....

Maybe if i meet him one day. I'll see what kind of guy he is...
But business is business, fooling cusomter is something bad.

This could have easy been solved by producing a list and paying for those license and say sorry.
I've called John Vega for problems with my hardware. He has never got a version number of eCtune or ANYTHING about eCtune's software, etc. from me. If I were able to reverse engineer software I dont think I would be tuning cars for a living

Thank you Chris. Some of the stuff you have stated is very hard to comprehend by some. One thing strikes me as odd. I've yet to have multiple cars "blow up" on me like another tuner in this area. I've yet to contact another tuner asking how much timing they were running. I've yet to talk to more than one tuner in this area about eCtune boost cut timing issues, rev limiter timing issues, etc.

Undercut? I charge the same rate as "other guys". Actually more expensive in some cases. Before you make accusations of license fees. I want to see an invoice were "illegally" charged with a license fee. Brotherz Racing was charging $350.00 plus dyno time for tunes

Like InsaneCivicSedan said. You all don't know everything that was going on at Brotherz Racing

And this was their answer:
I sorry that we can not be of more help to you in this situation . We do not have any invoices that would assist you considering the fact that we dont label any tunes by software. We want to be helpful to you in any way possible if there is something we can do . The tuner and you had made your own agreements through each other and there is no way for me to track any amounts of cars done on your software . Our invoices just say tuning, weather it be hondata, chrome, afc ,aem is all summed into one category called tuning. Let me know if we can do anything to help you.

I'm awaiting my lawyers response
Wait ... No special "license fees" tacked onto the bill? Well, that's because Brotherz Racing nor myself ripped anyone off with these "license fees"

--- --- ---
Attn Brotherz Racing Administrative Staff,

It has come to my attention that John aka Alpha of Brotherz racing was & is
using eCtune software to tune vehicles without proper software licensing.
Brothers Racing informed me that they had never tuned a car on eCtune,
however I have found emails stating otherwise from their tuner Alpha.
To prove this infringement I have collected ip address evidence along with
email data, recorded phone calls, witnesses etc.

Per recommendation by my local attorney. I am in the process of forwarding
the evidence which I have concerning this matter to representatives of the
FDLE and FBI to determine what course of action should be taken to prosecute
this manner. I am also in the process of contacting a lawyer in the Tampa,
Florida area concerning the matter.

It has been brought to my attention that John aka Alpha is no longer an
employee of brotherz racing. However this does not mean that Brotherz was
not involved with the criminal activity due to the fact that they profited
from the use of the software illegally by selling dyno tuning services to
customers.

Thank You,
Calvin J Bank - eCtune Developer & Owner.
--- --- ---

Well Calvin, the ball is rolling so I see no reason why we continue here. It's unfortunate but this is the way things played out

LOL, now you guys are comparing apples to carrots.

Let me edit the signature to make you happy, however I legally tune all of the softwares in my signature.

I am not a factory direct AEM dealer & I don't wish to be one as their product line is saturated in price wars.

Regardless of you trying to point out this, I am not the one lying to customer's & being accused of illegally using software for financial gain. Perhaps, instead of focusing on trying to make me look bad, you should try and resolve the friction between you and Calvin.

Jason,

Bringing up information you have from over 3 years ago? Well guess what...
Have you ever thought that I could have purchased a romeditor software package to tune an s200b car for a friend? Perhaps, I legally used the romeditor software to tune client's s200 setups? I am a proud owner of a romeditor v4 package & s200b. Do you wan't the serial number, perhaps pictures of the unit ?

I made the post to help Calvin out along with make the public aware of the possible situation they may have encountered. I don't care how it makes me look as a moderator. I felt the importance of this topic outweighed the responsibility of being "neutral".

No. Not necessarily John. You're still lying to people making them think you're actually an authorized dealer AND tuner for these companies. I've had a couple companies throughout Florida mention this to me. So it's not just me. I'm just the only one who will bring it into the public forums now. And AEM wasn't happy about this either. And you're right. <sarcasm>I'm a computer code expert reverse software engineer</sarcasm>

Financial gain? We charge and charged the same amount. I was on salary. I work 40 hours a week or 75 hours a week I am paid the same. I'm sorry you treat people like shit and your tuning business has gone to the same. It's funny the amount of pm's I have got about your yourself since this thread

You might have paid for it by now, but I know back when you were broke for a couple years....you were tuning against what Hondata had their rules set for. Therefore you were tuning illegally. Isn't this thread about that?

And it has made you look like a hypocrite to a lot of people and customers here

Maybe it will be best for me to start tuning and chipping Honda's for free since </sarcasm> I have taken advantage of so many for financial gains</sarcasm>. You've seen my huge house and my Honda Ridgeline on 24's

Huh, tuning it illegally ?
Explain that to me... How was I illegally tuning it ?
All of the customers that I tuned on Hondata had their own hondata unit that they paid for. Ontop of that I paid for my romeditor license, it is not illegal to tune multiple cars on one romeditor license for hondata as they make their money on each hondata unit.

Now you are just trying to talk out of your ass.
