Very curious.

If Alpha falsely tuned individuals cars,on another program,then would'nt that be Alpha's matter..with HIS customers?You mentioned it once,and that's all it would take..but you've repeated yourself 8-10 times for some reason.We can all read.

Again,I'm way off the sideline with this...

 

You are entitled to your opinion from the "sidelines".
However I would like to ask you: Jealous over what exactly ?

I probably have tuned the same or more volume of Honda/Acura vehicles then Alpha did this year. Guess what? I did it without misleading anyone.

If I was jealous of Alpha or any one else for that matter why wouldn't I just come out & talk smack about their knowledge or skills? Have you noticed I have not said a thing about Alpha's capabilities as a tuner? He is very competent from what I have seen.

Alpha & I would speak to each other on a weekly basis. We in no way were enemies & I still consider him to be a good person who simply made a mistake which he should admit to publicly to the people that were effected by it & move on.

 

Some here seem to be missing the obvious - John Vega has a business interest in eCtune, because he is licensed by the company. It is his fight, if he wants it to be.

If I pay Budweiser to open a distributorship in the Tampa area and I find out there is a warehouse run by someone in the area illegally distributing, I am being ripped off, along with Budweiser the company.

Many of us are guilty of owning a pirate piece of something - a movie or whatever - but there is a big difference in something you have for personal use and something you are trying to profit from.

I could have a pirate copy of the new Indiana Jones movie I bought for $10 on the street and enjoy it at home without ruffling feathers, but if I rent a hall and charge customers for tickets, the local movie house (which paid $thousands for its copies) has got a legitimate gripe, as does Speilberg and Lucas, who made the film.

In our scenario, Vega is the movie house that paid for his copies of the movie. eCtune is Spielberg and Lucas, who made and own the movie. It's that simple.

But this isn't apples to apples, for while a movie viewer might be just as happy no matter who he paid to see the film, a car owner who paid for an eCtune license from a non-approved tuner isn't getting his money's worth. eCtune is not bound to back the tune or honor the license if the person comes back for a retune on eCtune if the orginal tune was not done by an authorized tuner.

That said, the circumstances and degree of impropriety (if bogus license fees were charged car owners) is not clear to most of us, but I just wanted to point out that it is not only eCtune that is gettng hurt if what Vega alleges is is going on.

For example, I recently paid John Vega a car license for an eCtune. That means I am good to go and don't have to pay for another license for that car again. I would sure hate to go for another eCtune one day only to find out I don't have a valid license, according to eCtune records.

 

< still has yet to see a complaint made by any of alphas customers and better yet the OWNER of eCtune.

 

Now, i understood this^^ to be the case from the very begining. Why is it so hard for people to understand where mtber's beef with this issue is?

 

? you are not making a good comparison... we all know calvin is losing money for illegal use of his software, fine. but who is vega in this whole problem? just an authorized dealer... he sells, he tunes, he distributes ectune. thats it!

If Brotherz racing received a trial version legally and 6 cars or so was tuned and they failed to send the money to Calvin for liscenses then isn't that on them and not Alpha since Alpha was a salaried employee and not direcly taking money from the customers?

 

it's understood but really mtbers arguement should have only went so far and throughout the entire thread he contradicts himself alot. and does a good bit of editing his posts. Alpha ay or may have not done something wrong,unethical,illegal, etc but there still has been not one complaint from a direct source. the only complaint is mtbers and its really making him look bad and this is where its not gonna help either of their businesses. BTW anyone need their car tuned with eCtune? i thinking about buying into it...lol
