sounds like the studs weren't set properly and torqued properly. I think they'll still be good.

I don't offhand. I'd check ARP's website and see if they have specs on there, or call 'em tomorrow.

If they didn't shave the head, maybe this is a sign that your head is slightly warped? Don't know.

the shop torqued them to 17? theres a huge problem right there.
on a dual cam vtec the torque specs are

first step: 22 ft pounds
second step: 61 ft pounds

17 should be nowhere in there, anywhere. now arp might be a slightly different torque. it might be on their website.

Studs are reusable as long as they were not over torqued. In your case, at 17 lbs, they were undertorqued, which is why it leaked. Not sure which motor you have, but dohc vtec ARP studs can be torqued to 72 lbs if desired.

if they where only Tq to 17ftp you could would not even run,why do you think your headgasket is blown?i would have someone look at it first to check the compression and all maybe they where just not tightened do to 70Lb they should be and when it warms up may have lil leak honda motors are not known for warping im sure it could happen but is very rare,i and many have beat the hell out of some and stll nothing.try finding someone who knows hondas"maybe dealers" to find out what is wrong with your car
