I have a 1st gen b16 in my 88 CRX Si and I just installed it about 4 weeks ago. Now my 3rd gear syncro)S1 tranny) I believe is going to crap. Before it grinded very slighty at very high rpms but now it grinds going into gear at 4k. So Im assuming it is the syncro. So my question is 1)what part(s) do I ask a dealership for when rebuilding this tranny or 2)what is a good place(and what tranny should I look for..S1 J1 Y1 YS1)should I go for. Ive been told to try to find a YS1 which I beleive is the 92-93 USDM GSR tranny? Or does anyone have a good grind-free tranny I could take off their hands? Any help would be appreciated.

So Im assuming the Ys1 tranny is a cable tranny that will bolt right up to the 1st gen b16a?

I recommend just getting another tranny rather replacing syncros. Getting a new one would probably not be that much more money than replacing syncros. I could be wrong tho.

Does it matter if its a LS tranny or a GSR tranny? I would think the GSR tranny would be the better choice but Im not an expect on trannys...(gear ratios etc...)
